Woodchix Homeschool Woodworking

🗓 Weekly during Term 3 (20 July – 14 September 2026)

What is it?

Woodchix runs hands-on woodworking classes designed specifically for homeschool students, teaching real tool skills and guiding children through building their own projects across the term.

Who is it for?

Children aged 6 and up who like making things with their hands, and families wanting a practical skill taught properly by someone else.

Beginner friendly?

Yes. Tool skills are taught from the beginning, with safety built in.

What do children usually do?

Children learn to use real tools safely and work through woodworking projects step by step, finishing with something they've genuinely made themselves.

What should parents expect?

Expect a structured weekly class across Term 3 with proper instruction and equipment, so you don't need tools, space or woodworking knowledge at home. Children build skills progressively rather than in a one-off session.

Why Homeschool Link recommends it

Practical hands-on trades and making skills are some of the hardest things to offer at home, and some of the most confidence-building for children. A term-long class gives them time to genuinely get good at something.

Why families appreciate it

Families love seeing what their children carry home — and the pride that comes with having built it themselves.
